Parents

Parent workshops are essentially an extension of the children’s workshops. During these sessions, parents gain insight into how we use the Festival of Foods/EAT model to get their children excited about eating healthy, and how they can adapt those strategies at home.

Additionally, the workshops give parents a chance to have their own questions about diet, nutrition, shopping, cooking, managing the picky eater, portion control, dining out, dealing with the overweight or obese child, exercise and other important issues answered by a registered dietitian.

Recommendations are based on the food guide pyramid, the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans and other science-based resources.
