Geographic

CHANA Project serves children, families and child care providers in Miami-Dade County. We also serve the international community when the opportunity and funding permit. Our strategic plan for the next three years includes expanding services to other counties across the state and across the country. If you would like us to bring this exciting and innovative program to your community, contact us today.

Socio-economic

CHANA Project serves children of all socio-economic levels. However, our primary focus is on serving children and families in low- income, underserved communities.

Education

Children and families of all educational background are eligible to participate in programs conducted by CHANA Project. However, 75 to 80 percent of the children served are expected to be low-income, based on criteria established for most government programs.

Health

Children who are living in low-income and underserved communities are at increased risk for hunger, obesity and diet-related health problems. For this reason, CHANA Project targets communities where a majority of children are at risk.

Age

The age range of children targeted for participation in CHANA Project activities is generally between 6 and 13, although we serve older and younger children, as well. Our strategic plan for the next three years call for expanding our programs to reach younger children (ages 2 to 5) and older children (14 to 18). If you have a program that serves children in any of these age groups and would like more information about partnering with CHANA Project, contact us today.

Gender

CHANA Project serves both boys and girls.

Race and Ethnicity

All children, regardless of race and ethnicity are eligible to participate in “The Festival of Foods” workshops.
